Many American people today own a cell phone, smartphone, iPhone, and so many other types of wireless phones. People take the cell phone for granted and don’t think about why it was made or what it has done for people today. Phones today can be used in so many ways, such as a camera, GPS, calculator, notepad, phone of course, an alarm clock, and so many more useful tools.

The first cell phone was created by a man called Martin Cooper, also known as “the Father of the Cell Phone. He realized the need for a phone that wasn’t connected to a land line and could be brought along if you were going out. Even though he invented the cell phone, Cooper wasn’t the first man to invent a wireless phone. One predecessor to the cell phone would be the radio phone, a phone used during the Second World War. The first man to realize the possibility and potential of space conducting electricity was Michael Faraday, but a doctor Mahlon Loomis was the first man to communicate through a wireless atmosphere. All in all these men all contributed in what is now the average person’s cell phone.

The cell phone has affected the future of our world greatly. People everywhere today own cell phones. The cell phone has helped countless individuals in their everyday life. People needed cell phones for so many things before they were invented. One such time of need would be if someone got lost. There are several accounts of people getting stranded somewhere and calling for help with their cell phones. An additional need for a cell phone is for those who don’t like to talk on the phone so, instead of talking they can text someone. The cell phone has progressed through the years, decreasing in size, yet increasing in knowledge. It also has become more and more technical, unlike the first cell phones which could only call someone. Currently the cell phone can do so much more than just call people, it now holds the ability to text, take pictures, explore online, calculate tips and prices, take down notes, find places, and wake people up in the morning if they’ve left their alarm clock at home while on a trip. Today there are over five million types of cell phones worldwide, and in America more than 91% of the adults own cell phones. If that’s not enough information on phone ownership it’s noteworthy to learn that most kids under sixteen own at least one form of a cell phone or other.

The cell phone has greatly impacted the world as it is today. Cell phones are heavily depended on by most in America. Much has gone into the making of cell phones, and it has made life that much more easy for the average person.
