The preservation of the few remaining tiger species is a very serious matter to modern scientists. Several aspects of the tiger’s habitual life are studied so as to analyze how humans can help preserve and protect them. One such aspect would be how other tigers went extinct (six out of nine species remaining still today). By studying this factor scientists can help prevent the handicaps that destroyed other tiger species. This has been proven essential for protecting the remaining tiger species seeing that certain viruses and other “bugs” were eliminated for the tiger’s protection. Another aspect of analyzing potential factors of extinction is to observe the habitat that the specific species is residing. For example the Siberian tiger, or more correctly defined Amur tiger, lives on the far Eastern side of Russia. This tiger species was observed so as to investigate its survival in its own habitat. The Amur tiger was observed to be quite resilient as it was able to defend itself easily against other carnivores in its territory. While its defense is exceptional, its habitat was very extensive, but modernization increased causing the tiger population to drop suddenly during the 1900s. This in turn caused Russian scientists and their government programs to create great preservation parks and programs for protect the Amur Tiger. As this creature was studied man helped protect it as God ordained he should. Preservation of animals is a very important job.
