Now the photography subjects in the state of Washington state are very hard to beat. You could go out your front door and see skyscrapers and feel the constant energy of life surround you. You could taste the sea air and capture just a sliver of its essence with the lens of your camera. Even just a sliver could capture a living breathing piece of the misty mornings I loved so much. If I walked just a little distant I entered the very heart of our city neighborhood. It may not have looked like much from the outside but once in you were surrounded by deep forest pines as the earth delved into a crevice of ravines and waterfalls. I often enjoyed taking picture of the wildlife there. My favorite pictures were the ones that we would take as we drove down the road to Dash Point Park and walk along the shores till we reached Brown's Point docks. Colourful starfish would cling to the piers dipping their flowery tentacles into the briny waters of the Sound. I loved the busy ports of Tacoma just for the colour that was everywhere. Other maritime towns eased into a deep emerald green as they slowly crept inland. They would reach into the mountains forming coves and river towns. When I moved to South Carolina for a short period of time I depended on the animalia indigenous to the area for photographic opportunity. I also deeply based my subjects in architecture, which was quite rich in southern culture. The elegant southern mansions were usually my favorite sights as well as other historical buildings. Not much else was a strong influence on my photography there. I later moved to where I live presently in Michigan. My focus is no longer on the larger picture but the up close observance of everyday items. I have been able to fondly explore the world of macro while working on other techniques such as the bokeh effect. I retrospect I have grown to adore photography wherever I have lived.
Here are some of the picture I've taken recently.
