My Love,
Loving you sometimes is like loving a cliff overlooking the sea.
The view is coveted by many others who settle with loving the sands of the shore
instead.
It is a difficult climb up the craggy hilltop,
But, my Love, I would make that journey for you every day.
Others have tried--
Even to the point of breaking off pieces of your wall,
But my heart belongs to you--
Whether that means my hands should be ripped and torn by the edges of your
cliff,
Or I should make the steady journey into the depth of the hills to reach you.
I would not change you, my Love.
The reward of knowing you in the depths of your soul is as one looking out over
the sea.
I have held onto the ragged edges of your cliff;
I have cried on many of the ledges and felt like leaving for the soft shores below
in moments of despair,
But my feet are fixed upon your wall.
I have not touched the shore, for it is not my true love.
I can see the waters, and they are much more beautiful than I ever imagined.
