I cannot experience the living moments
In the way I once knew them
Your absence has altered my reality
Bending my sweet nostalgia around my memory of you.
Sweet smells: they belong to you
Shadows amongst the greenery: I feel as if I might find you there
Even the flowers in spring are not nearly as sweet without you
Scarcely a fraction of their gentle beauty.
Will I ever experience life as it should be without you?
I can barely remember who I was when I was with you.
You brought tenderness to me:
A child of winter’s want.
I found new warmth in you, my sweet summer child
My tender and loving angel
My only Love.
I miss you so dearly.
I fear your absence will grow longer.
I would rather cease to live than continue
Living this life of muted radiance.
