My weary soul is broken and borne down with pain.
This cruel world has stripped me of all goodness and hope,
Scarring me to my innermost thoughts.
If love is not here, where shall I journey?
Shall I go to the depths of the sea in search of treasure
or shall I go to the heights of the mountains to find courage in my deed?
Such things are vanity-- all vanity
But my Father, in You I find respite.
In You, I find healing far greater than any physician.
In You, my scattered pieces are gathered and mended.
I am moulded to fit an image I could never have found on my own.
My shattered being is unified in Your purity
And I am once again whole,
Interlaced with the precious hope of a world beyond mine:
A world where I no longer need my broken pieces
Or feel the crevices within my heart,
But a world where I will at last be the golden reflection of my Saviour,
And at last I can lay aside the empty love of this world.
