I would build a sanctuary of peace with you

Where you would rest your head

And I would lie here beside you

We would await the rains with no fear of the wind:

I in your arms and you leant against my shoulder

What fear is there of tomorrow

When your cheek brushes against mine in the shadows of morning?

Though there is still darkness, I can still feel your heat, your breath,

and know my comfort needs no sight in such a faithless world.

I can barely remember the pains of yesterday;

Where are the sorrows I witnessed throughout the years before?

They are but ashes of a day that no longer exists while I am by your side!

I live today in your arms, in your heart, in your soul,

And I lean upon you fully in the eyes of our Father

His providence has brought me through the valley in which I trembled

But oh for the summers here in your presence!

He knew the end of my suffering in joining of our hands

And the grief bound knitting of our souls

What is pain?

How little I remember of its tumultuous bearers in my life!

I am close beside you and bound to your future days

I am yours, my love

Do not forget me as I have forgotten the pains of yesterday
